While Branson has a reputation for catering to an older crowd, and rightfully so, it is also a great place for families.  There are places such as Silver Dollar City and Ripley’s Believe it or Not are great for younger kids. Older kids will enjoy the Titanic Museum and Beyond the Lens, among many other options.  Several shows are also good for kids, such as magic shows and the Dixie Stampede (although very expensive if you have many kids).

Silver Dollar City:

Silver Dollar City is an interesting mix of old shops, shows, and good thrill rides.  They have several excellent roller coasters.

Mel’s Hard Luck Diner

This is a fun diner in Branson where the wait staff are also all professional singers.  They have albums available in the gift shop and throughout the day take turns singing their songs in the middle of the diner.

Great Wolf Lodge

Great Wolf Lodge is a fun hotel/water park for young families.  The hotel by itself is not great, you can find other 3 star hotels for a lot less that will probably be nicer.  The water park by itself is not a great water park, it has 3 water slides and another 3 tube water slides, as well as a pool and some little kid activities.  The perks are that you can combine the two and the water park is indoors.  An indoor water park is hard to come by and if it is not water park weather then Great Wolf Lodge is a great option.  Our kids had a great time and loved it.  Having recently been to a large outdoor water park there were clear differences (such as no wave pool), but the Great Wolf Lodge is definitely more than just a hotel with a water slide in their pool.

T-Rex Restaurant

T-Rex is a dinosaur themed restaurant similar to a Rainforest café, although on an even larger scale.  The food was good but on the expensive side, the atmosphere was impressive.  Kids ranging from 4 to 11 loved looking around at all the aquariums and animatronic dinosaurs.
